Durant has 38, Warriors roll to 2-1 lead

LOS ANGELES (AP) He's Kevin Durant, and the Los Angeles Clippers got reminded of it.

Durant scored 38 points, Stephen Curry added 21 playing with five fouls, and the Golden State Warriors dominated from the opening tip to win 132-105 Thursday night and take a 2-1 lead in their first-round playoff series.

"He came out super-aggressive, in kill mode," teammate Draymond Green said of Durant. "That was all the difference for us. We took control of the game right there in the first quarter and never lost control of it."

NEW YORK (AP) Joel Embiid took off his warmup gear and changed into street clothes, his left knee feeling too sore to play.

Even with the All-Star center sitting down, the Philadelphia 76ers were flying high in Game 3.

Giannis, Bucks rout Griffin-less Pistons

MILWAUKEE (AP) Saddled with early foul trouble and faced with an aggressive defensive scheme that kept him in check for the first two quarters, Giannis Antetokounmpo set the tone immediately in the second half.

Antetokounmpo scored 13 of his 26 points in Milwaukee's big third quarter and the Bucks beat the Detroit Pistons 120-99 on Wednesday night to take a 2-0 lead in the first-round playoff series.

Griffin might try to change Davis' mind

METAIRIE, La. (AP) The Pelicans newly hired top basketball executive said he's keeping coach Alvin Gentry and wouldn't rule out the possibility of talking six-time All-Star Anthony Davis into rescinding his trade request and committing to New Orleans long-term.

"We have a very long and successful history together with Klutch Sports," Pelicans executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin said Wednesday, referring to the agency, led by Rich Paul, that represents Davis. "Rich Paul and I have spoken about Anthony and I think we're both excited about what we can potentially build here."

Mavs G Hardaway has surgery on left leg

DALLAS (AP) Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has undergone surgery for a stress fracture in his lower left leg and is expected to resume basketball activities before the start of training camp in September.

The procedure announced Thursday came after Hardaway missed the last 11 games of the regular season. The sixth-year player averaged 15.5 points in 19 games after the Mavericks acquired in him a blockbuster seven-player deal with the New York Knicks headlined by Dallas getting Kristaps Porzingis.
